Manufacturing process

The manufacturing process of our high tensile strength steel for the world market begins with a high carbon content steel wire rod, chosen from the highest quality suppliers. After the raw material is delivered, its mechanical and chemical characteristics are tested in our laboratory.

These quality control mechanisms are carried out throughout the manufacturing process, as can be seen in the flow diagram.

Integration into GSW, our main raw material supplier, in line with a ISO (certified company according to the ISO 9001:2000 norm) standard production process, and our use of SAP management software, means that we can keep track of our products at all times.

The first stage of the manufacturing process, acid pickling, is completely automated. This is where surface impurities on the steel wire rod are removed in preparation for drawing.

A process which involves cold drawing the rods to reduce their diameter and increase their tensile strength.

At this point there are several different possible manufacturing processes, depending on the desired product and the characteristics of its application.
