TYCSA PSC manufactures high-strength wires and strands using a cold-forming (drawing) process, using high-carbon wire rod as raw material. This carefully selected material undergoes several processing stages that guarantee the production of products with high mechanical performance and excellent surface quality.

Cord

Specials

We manufacture high-strength steel strands for special infrastructure projects such as cable-stayed bridges, cryogenic steel for liquefied natural gas (LNG) tanks, ground anchors, or tensioning of concrete structures.

Formats

TYCSA PSC can present its products in other formats upon request: wire, 3-wire cord, 7-wire cord, and oiled/waxed and plastic-coated cord. The following values ​​are provided as a guide.

In addition, our products can be packaged with different layers (plastic, raffia, or water-soluble protection) to ensure the preservation of our products and their mechanical properties until the moment of use.


Laboratory

Quality is the prevailing concept at all levels of the organization when it comes to providing products that meet our customers’ requirements.

To this end, we implemented a process management system to control all parameters during the manufacturing of our products.

In addition, quality control points are established throughout the production process by qualified personnel from the quality team, responsible for taking samples and conducting laboratory inspections and tests to verify compliance with the specifications of the various standards under which we are certified, thereby ensuring long-term statistical compliance with critical product characteristics.

In the TYCSA PSC quality control laboratory, we have equipment calibrated by accredited bodies for performing the following tests:

  • Complete geometry measurement of wires and strands
  • Tensile test, with electromechanical machine, for the determination of elastic modulus, elastic limit (Re), breaking load (Rm), Re/Rm ratio, elongation under maximum load (Agt), necking and deflected tensile breaking load.
  • Fatigue testing is essential for the final applications of our products as they form part of active reinforcements.
  • Relaxation test. Stress loss due to relaxation at 70 and 80% of the actual breaking load.
  • Alternative bending test for wires.

Additionally, for plastic-coated cords, we have equipment to perform the following tests:

  • Static and dynamic sealing for wax-filled plastic-coated cords.
  • Friction test.

With the results obtained, we certify products according to applicable standards and relevant certification bodies, providing our clients with a guarantee of compliance with technical specifications.
