COMPAÑÍA ESPAÑOLA DE LAMINACIÓN, S.L., has received three grants for energy saving and efficiency projects, through the NATIONAL ENERGY EFFICIENCY FUND and managed by the INSTITUTE FOR ENERGY DIVERSIFICATION AND SAVING (IDAE), aid co-financed by the European Union through the ERDF Operational Program for Sustainable Growth 2014-2020.

COMPAÑÍA ESPAÑOLA DE LAMINACIÓN, S.L., has received twelve grants for projects related to the digitalization of society and industry. This call poses challenges and generates opportunities for the industrial sector, which must adapt its processes, products, and business models. Thanks to hyperconnectivity, customers are now better informed and have immediate access to offerings from industrial companies around the world. The objectives of this call are to increase industrial added value and skilled employment in the industrial sector, foster the future industrial model for Spanish industry, in order to strengthen the future industrial sectors of the Spanish economy and increase their growth potential, while developing the local supply of digital solutions and developing differential competitive levers to support Spanish industry and boost its exports.

COMPAÑÍA ESPAÑOLA DE LAMINACIÓN, S.L., has received four grants for industrial research, experimental development, and innovation projects in the areas of organization and processes in the manufacturing industry. This call poses challenges and generates opportunities for the industrial sector, which must adapt its processes, products, and business models. Specifically, this action aims to support the technological drive of companies and industrial sectors with a significant driving force on other auxiliary and complementary activities, as well as on strategic value chains. The objectives of this call are to increase industrial added value and skilled employment in the industrial sector, foster the future industrial model for Spanish industry, in order to strengthen the future industrial sectors of the Spanish economy and increase their growth potential, while developing the local supply of digital solutions and developing differential competitive levers to support Spanish industry and boost its exports.

The scope of the project is the complete migration to LED of the lighting installations at the Celsa Group plants located in Castellbisbal, consisting of three production plants (Celsa 1, Celsa 3 and Celsa 4).

The main objective is to improve the energy efficiency of facilities in order to reduce energy consumption and the corresponding carbon dioxide emissions.

The project has been awarded a grant for energy savings and efficiency in the industrial sector, co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund and managed by the Institute for Energy Diversification and Savings, part of the Ministry of Energy.

Projects for which COMPAÑÍA DE LAMINACIÓN S.L. (CELSA) has received support from the ERDF (European Regional Development Fund) through the Second Call for Proposals of the IDAE (National Institute of Energy Efficiency) aid program for SMEs and Large Companies in the Industrial Sector II:

• “Migration to LED lighting at the Celsa Group’s Castellbisbal Plants, Phase I,” at the Castellbisbal plant, with a grant of €248,409.29 (file no. ICA012/19/000246). The required investment was €910,502.21, and the energy savings achieved were 306.8 tep/year.
• “Migration to LED lighting in the Celsa Group’s Castellbisbal plants, Phase II,” at the Castellbisbal plant, with a grant of €118,873.19 (file no. ICA012/19/000247). The required investment was €432,271.96, and the energy savings achieved were 151.8 tep/year.
• “Migration to LED lighting at the Celsa Group’s Castellbisbal Plants, Phase III,” at the Castellbisbal plant, with a grant of €117,884 (file no. ICA022/21/000083). The required investment was €426,119.25, and the energy savings achieved were 147.3 tep/year.
• “Expansion of LED Migration at Celsa Group’s Castellbisbal Plants” at the Castellbisbal plant, with a grant of €297,185.41 (file no.: ICA022/21/000084). The required investment was €990,618.03, and the energy savings achieved were 304.82 tep/year.
• Incorporation of variable frequency drives in the Castellbisbal steel industry, with a grant of €57,808.45 (file no.: ICA012/19/000188). The required investment was €192,694.84.
• Renovation of the compressed air system at the Castellbisbal steel industry, with a grant of €53,228.10 (file no.: ICA012/19/000187). The required investment was €296,752.00.

COMPAÑÍA ESPAÑOLA DE LAMINACIÓN S.L. has received funding from the Ministry of Economy, Industry and Competitiveness as part of the Reindustrialization and Promotion of Industrial Competitiveness Program for the first phase of the “Strategic Program for the Expansion of Celsa’s Product Range” project. The investment project carried out in this first phase was developed at the Steelworks level, specifically for continuous casting. It consisted of the transformation of one of the six existing casting lines to enable the production of the new Beam Blank BB4 (from which the new product ranges will be manufactured), and the implementation of a 7th casting line for the same purpose.
